Leonard passed away the first day
of April 2009 due to a sudden, unexpected
heart attack. He was 71.
Leonard married the love of his life
and best friend, Verna on July 5,1959.
Married almost 50 years, they celebrated
the 50th anniversary of their engagement
on St. Patrick's Day 2009.
Moving to southern California, Leonard
managed the meat department of the largest Safeway store in Orange County and attended real estate school, earning his California license.
In fall of 1976, a move was made, bringing the family back home to Idaho and in 1980 started Designs West Interiors. Leonard also operated a subsidiary construction business, building several homes in the Boise area. He was skilled in detailed finish woodworking, tile setting, plumbing and electrical. He had knowledge of every aspect of construction and real estate.
Leonard especially enjoyed their place in Pine, Idaho. The mountains, pines, river and reservoir began calling his name about March every year as he impatiently waited for the snow to melt so he could settle in every weekend in the summer.
Leonard was a loving, caring, compassionate father, who would generously offer his time to share financial, spiritual or even home improvement advice. Leonard was extremely spiritual and had a great passion for life. Not a day went by he didn't say to Verna, "Hi Beautiful, have I told you lately that I love you", sometimes calling her to say just that.
He is greatly missed.
